Larry N. Dupler

**Service update:  A Veteran's memorial service and burial will be held Saturday (June 8, 2019) at 12 p.m. near the memorial chapel at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.**

Larry Dupler, 81, of Cambridge, died Friday (November 9, 2018) at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.

He was born February 6, 1937 in Athens, son of the late Carl Dupler and Nelle (Schwenke) Dupler.

A 1955 graduate of Cambridge High School and a 1959 graduate of Miami University, he entered the US Navy's Pilot Training Program. As a naval aviator, he served 8 ½ years and earned numerous combat medals for his involvement as a carrier pilot during the Vietnam War. He had nearly five hundred carrier landings.

Larry joined TWA as a pilot in 1969 and retired in 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Patty (Todd) Dupler, whom he married September 17, 2001 and whom Patty considered was the love of her life; two sons, Jeff Dupler of Columbus and Jason (& Shannon) Dupler of San Jose CA; a daughter, Cassandra Dupler of Manhattan KS; two sisters, Dottie (& Jack) Fay of Chillicothe and Judy (& Larry) Brill of Cambridge; two stepsons, Tim (& Sharon) West of Cambridge and Jeff (& Lori) West of Byesville; nine grandchildren, Nichole, Kari, Ian, Isabella, Samantha, Jackson, Kenzie, Troy, and Jared; seven great-grandchildren, Kameron, Konner, Griffin, Tripp, Chase, Tanner, and Calvin; and many nieces & nephews.

Memorial visitation hours will be held Monday (November 26, 2018) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.
