Larry J. Hartley, 79, of Cambridge and Quaker City, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at SEORMC.
Larry was born April 1, 1943, in Quaker City, a son to the late Ralph and Virginia (Foraker) Hartley.
Larry was a US Army Veteran from April 1964- April 1966 and earned a Marksman (Rifle M-14) Medal of Honor. Larry was a 1961 graduate of Quaker City High School. After serving in the Army, Larry was a Mechanic at Caldwell Motors until he retired.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Barbara Hartley.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Michelle (George) Hartley Cunningham of Cambridge, his brother, Carl (Evelyn) Hartley of Marietta, two sisters, Kathy (David) Miser of Pleasant City, and Linda Hartley and friend Richard Johnson of Quaker City, three grandchildren, Madelyn, Georgia and Savannah Cunningham.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City from 5-8 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City at 11 AM, with Pastor Ed Eberhart officiating. Military Honors will be held by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Burial will be held at Friends Cemetery.
