Larry G. Huston, 84, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at Cambridge Place.
He was born September 26, 1941, son of the late Raymond and Bessie (McKim) Huston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Judith (Collins) Huston.
Larry worked locally in many aspects. He worked as a mold maker for Cambridge Glass Company in Cambridge and Imperial Glass Factory in Bellaire, Ohio. He also worked for Hamilton Beach Scovill in Byesville and took great honor in representing the workers as president of the union, and had his own autobody shop & garage. Later in life, was the owner and operator of his own sign business, Boothill Signs & Designs.
He could be described as a jack of all trades, willing to help anybody in need. In his youth he started drag racing which led into racing stock cars. Larry also loved the thrill of skydiving and whitewater rafting. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bonfires with family and friends, playing golf, pool, bowling, horseshoes, and darts. He was a current member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2952 in Caldwell, and a former member of the Cambridge Eagles and Moose Lodges. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Larry was fascinated by local history and genealogy, and metal detecting was one of his later passions.
Larry is survived by; twin daughters, Jane (& John) Larrison of Cambridge, and Jean (& Paul) Miley of Sarahsville; twin sons, Dale (& Tricia) Huston of Norwich, and Dean (& Brenda) Huston of Byesville; and his youngest daughter, Amy Huston, also of Cambridge; a brother, Richard (& Kate) Huston of Cambridge; a sister, Judy Deeks of Cambridge; and nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and good friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th, from 5 to 7 pm, at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 7pm, with Pastor Frederick Osei-Manu officiating.
Burial will be held privately at a later date, at Guernsey Memory Gardens in Cambridge.
