Larry Richard Morris

Larry Richard "Snake" Morris, 71, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (August 1, 2012) at his home. He was born November 26, 1940 in Noble County, son of the late Sylvan Morris and Hilda (Ankrom) Morris. Mr. Morris was an employee of Westinghouse and Knox Vegetation. He was also a carrier for The Daily Jeffersonian for eighteen years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He was a social member of the Kipling VFW Post 7371. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ronald; two sisters, Nada Leeper and Carol Knouff; and a daughter, Melissa Bates. He is survived by his companion of seven years, Helen Headley; a son, Michael (& Stacy) Morris of Cambridge; a daughter, Georgia (& Jerome) Wise of Gretna LA; a brother, Pete Morris of Cambridge; a sister, Bonnie Harper of Cambridge; and a very special little girl, Alexis Lynn Ginsback of Indiana. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held Thursday (August 9, 2012) at 11 a.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with Pastor Randolph White officiating.
