Lawrence N. Glover

Lawrence N. Glover, 93, of Lore City, died Thursday (April 28, 2016) at Emerald Pointe Health & Rehabilitation, Barnesville. He was born October 22, 1922 in Mannington WV, son of the late Arlie E. Glover and Eva (Ashbee) Glover. Mr. Glover was a retired tool & die maker, having worked for The Hoover Company of Zanesville, RCA, NCR, and Cambridge Tool & Die. He had also worked for Buckeye Security. He was a graduate of Waynesburg PA High School. Mr. Glover was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, having served in the field artillery division. He was a member of the Kipling VFW Post 7371, and the Cambridge American Legion. He was Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella (Stull) Glover, who died December 1, 2012. They were married May 27, 1950. He is survived by a son, Bruce (Christine) Glover of Quaker City; three daughters, Deborah (& James) Spiers of Cambridge, Elaine Beckett of Cambridge, and Robin (& Lou) Kapolka of Senecaville; two sisters, Bernice (& Steve) Klingensmith of Cambridge and Frances Cunningham of Pitts GA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Stull of Mannington WV, and Ruby (& Bub) Stout of Mannington WV; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one expected great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Saturday (April 30, 2016) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Carol Touvell officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
