Leonard D. Crawford III, 48, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Monday (May 4, 2020) at his home in New York.
He was born January 6, 1972 in Zanesville, son of Leonard G. and Pam Crawford.
Mr. Crawford is a 1991 graduate of Cambridge High School, where he proudly wore the number 42 (the same number that his father and grandfather wore) when he took the field as a standout athlete on the football team. After high school, he served as an Airman 2 in the United State Air Force for four years. He then attended Columbus State Community College and Ohio University, where he studied Business Administration. Leonard was a very social and personable guy, who never met a stranger. His love for his family & friends was always present. His infectious smile and witty sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Crawford is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leonard J. Crawford and Arthur J. McKim; a brother, Shane A. McCuen; and an aunt, Kedra (Crawford) Wyatt.
In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by a brother, Tony (Lindsay) Crawford of Zanesville; his grandmothers, Barbara McKim of Cambridge and Georgia Mae Stewart of Cambridge; three uncles, Robert (Stephanie) Stewart of Circleville, Freddie Crawford of Cambridge, and James L. (Regina) Crawford of Cambridge; two aunts, Diane (Ron) Monroe of Cambridge and Diane Stewart of Columbus; three nieces; a nephew; and several cousins.
A private family service was held. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. Leonard was buried at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military honors.
