Leonard Earl Kyle, 97, of Cambridge, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday (November 1, 2014). He was born September 27, 1917 in Baltimore MD, son of the late Leonard M. Kyle and Grace (Clapper) Kyle. Leonard was only nine days old when his mother died and his father brought him to Zanesville for his maternal grandparents to raise. Leonard graduated from Lash High School in Zanesville. During WWII, he was a drill sergeant and was stationed in the Panama Canal area. Leonard was employed at Zulandt Drug Store of Zanesville, where he was the manager of the black-and-white photo lab on the second floor. When the company was sold to Stinard Drug Store, he opened the Cambridge Camera Shop in 1958, where he was owner and manager for many years. He also sold Prudential Life insurance and served as a mailman in Zanesville for a period of time. He was a former member of Bible Baptist and currently attended Cambridge Bible Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, B. Juanita (Graham) Kyle, who died August 15, 2008. They were married January 27, 1945. Also deceased is a son, Dana Douglas Kyle. He is survived by his daughter, Melody (& Clark) Law of Cambridge; a grandson, Kyle C. Law of Cambridge; and a former daughter-in-law, Lynn Kyle Hofacker of Ohio. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Friday (November 7, 2014) at 1 p.m. with Rev. Steve Leathley officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
