Leota Beryl Gray, 83, of Cambridge, died Thursday (January 28, 2010) at Victorian Oaks. She was born August 31, 1926 in Lore City, daughter of the late John Heaster Redd and Mary Elizabeth (Meighen) Redd. Mrs. Gray retired from March Electric after thirty-five years of service. She was a graduate of Lore City High School. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ronald Gray Sr., who died February 4, 2001. They were married April 11, 1943. Also deceased are two sisters, Daisy Mae Clark and Hazel Ruth Gamble; and four brothers, Joseph Russell Redd, William Harold Redd, Leroy G. Redd and Delmar Redd. She is survived by a son, Melvin (& Nancy) Gray Jr. of Cambridge; three daughters, Sharon (& David) Moore of Cambridge, Elizabeth (& Thomas) Stefano of St. Marys PA and Cynthia (& Emmanuel) Bertubin of Cambridge; a sister, Esther Ellen Gray of Senecaville; twelve grandchildren and five step-grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and eighteen step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday (February 2, 2010) at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Sperry officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
