Lillian A. Renker, 92, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (August 10, 2016) at her home. She was born September 2, 1923 in Batesville, daughter of the late John W. Renker and Grace (Bates) Renker Renner. Miss Renker retired from the American Heart Association, where she had worked as a field consultant for many years. She was a charter member of the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and served as a volunteer for many years at the hospital. She was also a member of the Knitting Guild Association International, the Town Square Quilt Guild, and a life member of the Pilot Club of Cambridge, as well as the Kentucky-Ohio-West Virginia District of Pilot International. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Renker; and a cousin, Max Bates. She is survived by her five cousins, Franklin (& Rita) Bates of Mount Vernon, Gloria Keylor of Crooksville, Jon (& Alice) Bates of Caldwell, Sam (& Jodie) Bates of Fayetteville AR, and Mary Messenger of Barnesville and her family - Kathleen (& Tom) Miller, Charlene (& Jim) Williams, Susie (& Carl) Davis, Sandy (& Warren) Moore, and Twila (& Dave) Fisher; and her close friends, Nancy (& Brian) Neff of Cambridge. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services and burial will be held Friday (August 12, 2016) at 3:30 p.m. at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contribution in Lillian's name be made to one of the following organizations that were very important to her: 1) Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort Inc., 410 Allied Drive, Nashville TN 37211; 2) The American Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago IL 60693; or 3) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
