Lloyd Richard Bean, 81, of Winterset, died Wednesday (September 12, 2012) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born August 11, 1931 in Antrim, son of the late Carl Bean and Grace (Casterline) Bean. Lloyd worked for Consol Coal, Belden Brickyard of Newcomerstown, Valley Mining, and Madison Township. He enjoyed tractors, especially tractor pulls and his 1951 Farmall M. He organized tractor rides in local parades. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Pauline Bean; a half-sister and brother-in-law, Loma and Vernon King; and a nephew, Dale Bean. He is survived by his wife, Florence Elaine (Lodge) Bean, whom he married September 3, 1949; a sister and brother-in-law, Clara Mae and John Law of Winterset; a special nephew, Paul (& Sharon) Bean of Byesville; a special niece, Shirley (& Anthony) Monaco and their son, Troy, of Georgia; and several other nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday (September 17, 2012) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Antrim Presbyterian Church, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Merlin Wentworth officiating. Burial will be at the Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery.
