Loren Earl Neff, 78, of Lore City, passed away Thursday (December 29, 2011) at the Countryview Assisted Living Center. He was born September 19, 1933 in Cambridge, son of the late Emmett C. Neff and Hazel Odessa (Mercer) Neff. Mr. Neff retired from American Airlines, where he had worked as a teletype operator. Mr. Neff was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Neff, Melvin Neff, and William Neff; and a sister, Shirley Cunningham. He is survived by two sons, Victor (& Karen) Neff of Delaware OH and Steven (& Leata) Neff of Idaho; two daughters, Colleen and Dorena both of California; two sisters, Bonnie (& Bob) Hagumier of Indiana and Marilyn (& Frank) Savage of Cambridge; two brothers, Jerry (& Darlene) Neff of Kimbolton and retired Col. Arthur (& Becky) Neff of Dayton; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his lifelong friend of sixty-five years, Bernard Kirkman of Byesville. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held on Thursday (January 5, 2012) at 1 p.m. at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
