Mabel I. Cumberlidge, 90, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (June 27, 2012) at her home. She was born March 24, 1922 in Quaker City, daughter of the late Albert Sharrock and Estella (Shuman) Sharrock. Mrs. Cumberlidge, along with her husband, owned and operated Mabel's Restaurant in Quaker City. She later retired from Champion Spark Plug. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cambridge, where she was also a member of the CWF. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Cumberlidge, who died January 30, 1970; and a sister, Elsie L. Lashley. She is survived by a daughter, Zelda Patterson of Cambridge; two grandchildren, John D. Patterson of Cambridge and Sarah (& J.D.) Haughn of Cambridge; four great-granddaughters, Brooke Patterson, Destiny Hayes, Beth Patterson, and Alexa Haughn; two great-great-grandsons, Chance and Braxton; and a special niece, Sharon Lashley of Buffalo. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Saturday (June 30, 2012) at 2 p.m. with Rev. Deborah Bolen officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Mabel's name to one of the following organizations: 1) First Christian Church, 1127 Beatty Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
