Mabel Williams, 98, a resident of the Cardinal House and formerly of Cambridge, died Friday (March 6, 2009) at the Cardinal House. She was born on January 23, 1911 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Dale Proctor and Samantha (Patterson) Proctor. She married William C. Williams on March 25, 1952. Mrs. Williams had worked at Kennedy's Bakery, Cambridge Glass and the Christian Agate Marble Factory. She was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church of Cambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, who died on August 29, 1986; a brother; and four sisters. She is survived by several nieces & nephews, including Ruth McBride of Springfield, Kathryn (Larry) Luton of Houston TX and Sandy (Dave) Black of Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Monday (March 9, 2009) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Spain officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc., P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
