Madeline Long

Madeline Long, 93, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (January 1, 2019) at Astoria Place of Cambridge.

She was born November 21, 1925 in Quaker City, daughter of the late Homer Hull and Velma (McBirney) Hull.

A graduate of Quaker City High School, Mrs. Long had worked at the Quaker City Bank from 1945 to 1990, where she had been the supervisor to the tellers and a branch manager. She had also worked at Cambridge Glass.

She helped to operate the family farm for many years and also had a family racing business along with her husband, Don, and brother-in-law, Dean.

Mrs. Long was Methodist by faith and attended Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Marlowe Long, who died January 14, 1998. They were married July 31, 1951. Also deceased are two brothers, Fred Hull and Harold Hull.

She is survived by a son, Tye (& Michele) Long of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Matt (& Amber) Long of Concord NC and Ashley (& Boz) Daugherty of Senecaville; five great-grandchildren, Raegan Daugherty, Drew Daugherty, Nolan Dean Daugherty, Madison Long, and Tyler Long; nephews, Doug (& Georgianna) Hull of Salesville and Kelly (& Pat) Fraley of Columbus; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday (January 5, 2019) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, with funeral services following at 1 p.m.

Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, c/o Phil Leasure, 52828 Zep Road West, Pleasant City OH 43772.
