Madge Osborne Wilkins Stanley, 64, of Cambridge, died Monday (December 21, 2009) at her home. She was born January 20, 1945 in Lavenham, Suffolk (United Kingdom), daughter of the late Charles Ruffin Wilkins and Elizabeth Rees (Worton) Wilkins. Mrs. Stanley retired in December of 2008 from Pike Elementary School, where she had been the secretary. She had worked in the East Muskingum School District for twenty-six years. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed horseback riding, traveling and working with computers. She loved playing cards with her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother and namesake, Madge Osborne Wilkins; and a sister, Christina Elizabeth Paul. She is survived by her husband, Gary Franklin Stanley of the home, whom she married April 26, 1965; a son, David Ruffin Stanley (& Elena King) of Cambridge; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Stanley (& John Jones) of Cambridge and Carol Lynn (& Louis) Robinson of Hilliard; four sisters, Kathryn F. (& Joseph) Miller of Statesville NC, Elizabeth R. (& Rusty) Downs of San Angelo TX, Martha Flax (& Bob) Troutman of Gold Hill NC and Charlotte Catherine Wilkins of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Jordan Louis Robinson, Cory Jay Robinson, Blake Adam King, Johnny Jones and Jenna Jones; and several nieces & nephews, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Monday (December 28, 2009) at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to any of the following organizations: (1) Guernsey County Cancer Society, 927 Wheeling Avenue Suite 205, Cambridge OH 43725; (2) Faith United Methodist Church, 500 S 7th Street, Cambridge OH 43725; or (3) any charity of the donor's choice.
