Malcolm L. Masters

Malcolm L. Masters, 81, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (April 25, 2017) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 10, 1935 in Cambridge, son of the late Clarence Masters and Sarah (Kirkbride) Masters. Mr. Masters retired from the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital, where he had worked as an orderly for many years. He loved country music and all of the Cleveland sports teams (the Browns, the Cavaliers, and the Indians). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Casey) Masters, who died in 2000; two sisters, Glenna and Louise; and five brothers, Gilbert, Elmer, Fred, Jim, and Buddy. He is survived by two sons, Martin Timothy Masters of Cambridge and Mitchel (& Jodi) Masters of Zanesville; four daughters, Marsha Porter of Cambridge, Melinda (& Dick) Wilson of Zanesville, Michele (& Billy) Brown of Byesville, and Kimberly Masters (& Steve Overly) of Old Washington; a brother, Glen (& Shirley) Masters of Byesville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday (May 1, 2017) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
