Marcillia H. Bryan

Marcillia H. Bryan, 83, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (February 7, 2012) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born June 6, 1928 in Aultman OH, daughter of the late John Romero and Evelyn (Miller) Romero. She worked at Theo's/Coney Island for over twenty-seven years before moving to Long Beach CA. She returned to Guernsey County in the mid 1990's. She was very active in the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center and Golden Sixties. She loved spending time with family and friends, and she enjoyed collecting Betty Boop memorabilia. She was a very giving person and will be loved and missed by all. Mrs. Bryan was a member of Christ Our Light Parish - St. Benedict Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Shorty" Bryan; a daughter, Marcie Bryan Law; a grandson, Kevin Burl Nicholas; and five brothers. She is survived by five sons, Allen (& Miyoko) Bryan of Florida, Tim (& Nancy) Bryan of Cambridge, Tom Bryan of Florida, Rick (& Sharon) Bryan of Kimbolton, and Dale Bryan of London; three daughters, Patricia Bryan of Phoenix AZ, Marsha Manes of Warsaw MO, and Maria (& Russell) Nicholas of Orma WV; six sisters, Rita Ludwig of Virginia Beach VA, Anita Miller of Indianapolis IN, Magdaline Bombeck of Elyria, Joanna Chivaroli Canton, Angelina Moody of Phoenix AZ, and Suzanna Lab of Canton; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where wake services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Christ Our Light Parish - St. Benedict Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday (February 11, 2012) at 2 p.m. at Christ Our Light Parish - St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Marcillia's name to the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, 1022 Carlisle Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
