Margaret Kale of Lakeland Addition died Monday (March 21, 2011) at the family farm between Salesville and Kennonsburg, where she had spent most of the last thirty-eight years. Her death was sudden and peaceful. Margaret was born January 23, 1929, to Edward and Mary Charvat. She raised four children - Louie, Kathy, John, and David; who then gave her nine grandchildren to love, cherish, and brag about (which she did daily). She always tried to encourage and instill confidence in each child. Margaret was an honest and generous person who attended church services when she could, but more importantly she lived through her Christian beliefs seven days a week. In eighty-two years, she never doubted those beliefs. She served by teaching Sunday school, helping with children's Bible study camp, being the church treasurer, and opening her home as a temporary foster parent for children in need in both Ashtabula and Noble counties. Margaret was an animal lover who always had dogs and cats on her lap, or by her side. With bottles of milk, she raised countless baby lambs, pigs, raccoons, and anyone else who needed a foster mother. She grew up with farm animals, and continued to help with the farm chores until recently. She loved music, especially when she could sing along, which she did regularly. Reverend Roger Pittman offered Margaret to her Lord with a beautiful final service at Saint John's Church on Saturday (March 26, 2011). She was buried in the Saint John's Cemetery on Saint John's Road.
