Marianne Evans, 63, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (April 10, 2013) at Kindred of Cambridge. She was born November 21, 1949 in Berea, daughter of the late Clark Evans and Minnie McNerlin. Miss Evans was an employee of Guernsey Industries. She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church of Cambridge, where she was an honorary deacon. She enjoyed playing bingo, going for long rides, eating out at Red Lobster, and shopping. She was an avid fan of the Cambridge Bobcats and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Evans. She is survived by her loving step-mother and caregiver for thirty-eight years, Marcella (Pontius) Evans of the home; a sister, Barbara (& Joseph) Hochstetler of Margate FL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, including her aunt, Beverly Beardmore of Beaver PA; her Yorkie dog, Miss Daisy Roberta Evans; her many friends at Golden Rule; special friends throughout her life, Scott Evans, John Birch, and Dave Mitchell; and the staff at Golden Rule school, who made Marianne's quality of life what it was. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Monday (April 15, 2013) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lynn Shetzer officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions in Marianne's name be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Guernsey Industries, 60772 Southgate Pkwy, Cambridge OH 43725; 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725; or 3) Guernsey County Children Services, 274 Highland Ave, Cambridge OH 43725.
