Marie L. Mattingly

Marie L. Mattingly, 67, of Salesville, died Wednesday (November 10, 2010) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born August 15, 1943 in Johnston County NC, daughter of the late Garland L. Lamm and Lucille (Watkins) Lamm. Mrs. Mattingly was a homemaker. She was a member of the Living Water Fellowship Church and president of the church's Ladies Group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Spence, Margaret Turner, and Rosalie McCleod. She is survived by her husband Thomas A. Mattingly of the home, whom she married June 27, 1992; a son, Richard (& Marty) Pfeister II of Baltic; three daughters, Sonya M. Chapman of the home, Melissa A. (& Doug) Courchene of Palm Harbor FL, and Lea E. (& Jesse) Scarberry of Salesville; a sister, Elizabeth Strickland of Smithfield NC; thirteen grandchildren, Chelsea, Richard III, Hannah, Ashley, Holly, Nathan, Jesse, Mindy, Jeremy, Anthony, Brandon, Timothy, and Heather; a great-granddaughter, Bridgette; and her lifelong friend, Phyllis Heil of Mineral City. Family and friends may call on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City. Funeral services will be held Saturday (November 13, 2010) at 11 a.m. at the Living Water Fellowship Church, Quaker City, with Pastor Bud Hines officiating. Burial will be at Salesville Cemetery.
