Marjorie Mcfarland

Marjorie McFarland, 87, formerly of Hillview Drive in Cambridge, died Saturday (June 7, 2008) at The Beckett House at New Concord. She was born on March 4, 1921 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William Russell and Nellie (Dixon) Russell. Mrs. McFarland retired from S.S. Kresge, where she served as a clerk. She was a member of Old Cambridge Baptist Church and also the Business & Professional Girls Club. She was a 1939 graduate of Cambridge High School and a graduate of Cambridge Business College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. McFarland, who died in 1984; a brother, Gerald Russell; and two sisters, Mildred LePage and Lillian Winnett. She leaves a daughter, Elva R. Griffith of Columbus; a brother, Harold (& Helen) Russell of Gratiot; a close friend, Katie Stiles of Cambridge; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Wednesday (June 11, 2008) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Fleming officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
