Martha Hawkins

Martha A. Hawkins, 84, of Old Washington, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Countryview Assisted Living. Martha was born on October 31, 1940, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Baird) Warden. Martha was a 1958 graduate of Cambridge high school. She worked for NCR for many years, but her passion in life was harness horses. Her and her husband, Walter, were owners and trainers of Standardbred Racehorses for over 45 years, along with their family. She enjoyed cooking, teaching the grandkids how to cook, and her horses. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hawkins, whom she married on October 31, 1958, and passed away on December 17, 2020. Martha is survived by her son, Randy (Cathy) Hawkins, her daughter, Candi (Adam) Dronebarger, four grandchildren, Rissa (Mau), Nicole (Doug), Dakota, and Dillon (Drew), her six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Madilynn, Brinley, Gracie, Emelia, and Halle Jean, and her great-great granddaughter, Lorelai.
