Mary Evalyn Burris

Mary Evalyn Burris, 74, of Old Washington, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at her home.

Mary was born on June 25, 1950, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late James and Bonnie (Savage) Brill.

Mary enjoyed decorating, crafting, and gardening and worked in retail sales for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Burris, whom she married on July 1, 1989, and passed away on November 5, 2001, and two brothers, Jack and Jim Brill.

Mary is survived by her son, Bob Bennett of Old Washington, two daughters, Tyla (Bob) Hewison of Cambridge and Robin Bennett of Lore City, and two sisters, Tonya Brill of Buffalo and Sandra (Tom) Winnett of Cambridge. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Alyssa Wright, Justin Ayers, Trevor Bennett, Jonet Mitchell, Jaeda Mitchell, Tyrek Mitchell, and Brooklyne Bennett, and her five great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 11AM-1PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with the service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Northwood Cemetery.
