Mary Ann Carpenter

Mary Ann Carpenter, 70, of Quaker City, died Friday (October 9, 2020) at Emerald Pointe Health & Rehab, Barnesville.

She was born July 12, 1950 in Boston, daughter of the late August Grandi and Mildred (Keiser) Grandi.

Mrs. Carpenter was once the Mayor of Batesville and had served on the Batesville Village Council.  She was also a homemaker.

She was a 1968 graduate of Barnesville High School.

Mrs. Carpenter loved embroidery and making quilts for friends.  She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Carpenter, who died June 14, 2013.

She is survived by a special sister-in-law, Ruth Betts of Barnesville; and her special friends that she thought of as family, Doug (Brooke) Winland, Patrick (Erin) Winland, Zac Winland (Shanequa McCaughn), Dremmia (Michael) Winland, and Carina (Brandon) Miser.  Those who loved and cared for Mary would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Emerald Pointe of Barnesville for their five years of wonderful care.

Visitation will be held Friday (October 16, 2020) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, CAMBRIDGE, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evang. Mark Beros officiating. Per our Governor's current COVID-19 guidelines, face coverings are required to attend the visitation and/or services. Thank you.

Burial will be at Batesville Cemetery.
