Mary Lou Culbertson

February 13, 1942 — October 20, 2017

Mary Lou Culbertson, 75, of Cambridge, passed away Friday (October 20, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 13, 1942 in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Ross and Peggy (Turner) Deeren.

Mrs. Culbertson retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital, where she had worked as a nurse for many years.

She was a graduate of Cambridge High School and the Riverside School of Nursing.

Mrs. Culbertson was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra (Deeren) Moore.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph H. Culbertson, whom she married September 1, 1963; two daughters, Michelle (Tom) Parsell of Newark, OH, and Stacy (Mark) Hayes of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, and Danielle Parsell of Newark, Alexandria and Duncan Hayes of Cambridge; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Jackie) Culbertson of Atlanta, GA and Ron Moore of Cambridge; and two aunts, Faye Culbertson of Cambridge, and Margaret "Spike" Culbertson Finn of Lantana, FL.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday (October 26, 2017) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Terry Litton officiating.

Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
