Mary "Fran" Frances Hall

Mary Frances "Fran" Hall, 85, a lifelong resident of Quaker City, died Tuesday (November 5, 2019) at Astoria Place of Barnesville.

She was born September 14, 1934 in Guernsey County, daughter of the late Howard Abraham Thompson and Luella (Slasor) Thompson.

Mrs. Hall had worked as a waitress at the Shenandoah Inn and also at Blondette's Diner in Quaker City. She was a lifelong homemaker.

She was a craft artist who enjoyed knitting, creating jewelry, and making costumes for the Ohio Hills Folk Festival. She loved bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Hall, who died May 26, 2018. They were married June 22, 1952. Also deceased is a daughter, Tina Marie Secrest; her siblings, Ruth Critser, Harold Thompson, Annabell Keylor, Howard Thompson, Velma June Dollison, Shirley Harper, Beverly Hauck, Silas Thompson, and Rodeanya Young Robinson; and a grandson, Mark Aron Wells.

She is survived by a son, Stephen (& Deanna) Hall of Salesville; two daughters, Vickie Snider of Edgewater FL and Teresa McBride of Salesville; her siblings, Elizabeth Whitman, Patricia King, Kenny Thompson, and Marjorie (& Danny) Palmer; ten grandchildren, Kimberly (& Ben) Zilka, Terri (& Dan) Nielson, Jeremy (& Jessie) Hall, Michele Swallie, Amanda (& Jeff) Phillips, Heath (& Paige) Swallie, Joshua (& Nicolette) Secrest, Craig (& Danielle) Secrest, Crystal (& Chad) Antill, and Ami (& Shawn) McDowell; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday (November 10, 2019) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Monday (November 11, 2019) at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
