Mary Helen Green, 85, of Lore City, died Thursday (August 22, 2013) at Autumn Health Care, Cambridge. She was born January 7, 1928 in Millwood Township/Guernsey County, daughter of the late Robert Ray Gibson and Jessie Melisa (Roe) Gibson. Mrs. Green retired from the former March Electric after twenty-years of service. She was a member of the Leatherwood Senior Citizens, March Electric Breakfast Club, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and the Golden 60s. Mrs. Green was a 1946 graduate of Quaker City High School. She was a member of the Kipling United Methodist Church and the Stop Nine Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lee Green, who died November 3, 2004. They were married April 27, 1947. She is survived by two sons, Ronald L. (& Patricia) Green of Burlington IA and Curtis R. Green (& Susie McElroy) of Quaker City; three granddaughters, Annette (& David) Sichina of Lore City, Andrea (& Chris) Miles of Byesville, and Ashley Green of Burlington IA; a step-granddaughter, Tracy (& Jess) Swanson of New London IA; four great-grandchildren, LeeAnna and Allison Sichina, Cohen and Greyson Miles; three step-great-grandchildren, Grant, Devin, and Cole Swanson; a sister-in-law, Carmie Green of Byesville; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Monday (August 26, 2013) at 10 a.m. with Evang. Woody Biggs and Evang. Mark Beros officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
