Mary L. Long

Mary L. Long, 89, of Cambridge, died Saturday (September 4, 2021) at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 19, 1931 in Bellaire, daughter of the late Louis L. Keitz and Evelyn (Mentz) Keitz.

Mrs. Long was the retired owner of the Long Branch Restaurant.

She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish and a member of the CRHP team. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and needlework. She was a 1950 graduate of St. John's Central Catholic High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Buttitta; her second husband, George E. Long Sr., who died December 14, 2004; a son, Michael Long; two brothers, Louis Keitz and William Keitz; a sister, Elizabeth Robson; and a grandchild, Ross Long.

She is survived by three sons, Charles (Susan) Long of Norwich, George (Traci) Long of Cambridge, and Steven (Angie) Long of Cambridge; a daughter, Barbara (Tony) Mingione of Cambridge; a brother, William (Joy) Keitz of Fairfield; a daughter-in-law, Ann Long of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Shirley Buttitta of California; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Mingione, Juliet Carey, Alana Ryan, Emily Mingione, George Long III, Andrew Long, Monica Mingione, Mason Long, Parker Long, Michael Hammer, and Arron Long; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday (September 6, 2021) from 11 a.m. at 1 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. with Father Paul Hrezo officiating.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, at a later date.
