Mary "Babe" Mildred Calvert

Mary Mildred "Babe" Calvert, 99, of Cambridge, died Monday (November 2, 2020) at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.

She was born June 14, 1921 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Grover B. Calvert and Bessie Lucille (Warne) Calvert.

Miss Calvert retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital.  She had also worked at Cambridge Glass and Oxford Tile.

She was a member of the Center United Methodist Church.

Miss Calvert loved glassware, antiques, and gardening.  She was a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center of Cambridge.

Her family was her greatest joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas, William, Robert, James, and Warne Calvert; three sisters, Carolyn Patterson, Sara Patterson, and Patricia Goodwin; a niece, Carol Fitzgerald; and two nephews, Carl Calvert and Jhan Goodwin.

She is survived by four nephews, Tim Calvert of Cambridge, Chris Patterson of Cambridge, Jack Patterson of Toledo, and Jeffrey Goodwin of Frisco TX; five nieces, Debbie McVicker of Cambridge, Cindy Bell of Atlanta GA, Corrinne Calvert of Cambridge, Sue Oiler of Vermillion, and Kimberly Calvert; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday (November 7, 2020) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Dan Milburn officiating. Burial will be at the Northwood Mausoleum, Cambridge.
