Mary E. Rocker, 89, of Lore City, died Tuesday (September 6, 2011) at her home. She was born March 4, 1922 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Joseph Melching and Carrie (McJeilton) Melching. She married George Rocker Sr. on October 24, 1947. Mrs. Rocker retired in 1984 from March Electric, where she had been employed as an assembler. She was a graduate of Brown High School. She was Protestant by faith. She loved crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George, who died January 26, 1989; two sons, Mack Chiesa and Paul Chiesa; a grandson, Paul Chiesa II; a great-granddaughter, Emma Baker; a sister, Josephine Wright; and a brother, Mack Melching. She is survived by a son, George (& Sharon) Rocker of Cambridge; four daughters, Carol Stillions (& Rick) of Kings Mine, Mary (& David) Howell of Westerville, Theresa (& Thomas) Clauss of Kings Mine, and Patty Griffin (& Scott) of Sebring FL; twenty grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call Friday (September 9, 2011) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Fred Barrett officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions in Mary's name be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
