Mary Beth Smith

Mary Beth Smith, 72, of North Augusta SC and formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday (December 9, 2020) at Sharonbrooke Assisted Living of Newark.

She was born March 6, 1948 in Wheeling WV, daughter of the late George Hocking and Gail (Bramble) Hocking.

A 1966 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Mrs. Smith had worked as a shipping supervisor at Shield Alloy for many years.

She was Catholic by faith.

She enjoyed golfing and playing cards.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Smith, whom she married April 4, 1975; a step-son, Bruce (Leslie) Smith of Berea; two step-daughters, Karen (Barry) Bauserman of New Concord and Pam (David) Miller of Georgetown KY; two brothers, George M. (Joan) Hocking of Wheeling WV and Robert (Michelle) Hocking of Grove City; three sisters, Barbara Jane (Ray) Powell of Rockford IL, Judith Higgs of Parkersburg, and Sally Hocking of Newark; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed.  No funeral services will be held at this time.
