Mary Elizabeth (Simmons) Taylor, 80, of Lakemore and formerly of Cambridge, died Thursday (December 29, 2011) at her home. She was born April 25, 1931 in Renick WV, daughter of the late Williams Simmons and Mary (Williams) Simmons. Mrs. Taylor retired from NCR after twenty years of service. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and going to church. She cherished spending time with her family & friends and was known to everyone as "Granny". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Taylor; a sister, Wanda Dunham; and four brothers, Jesse Simmons, Earnest Simmons, David Simmons, and William Simmons. She is survived by three sons, Russell (& Patricia) Taylor of Cambridge, Roy (& Connie) Taylor of Fairview, and Gene (& Kathy) Taylor of Lakemore; a daughter, Jeanette (& Jim) Cronin of Gahanna; a brother, Forest (& Etta) Simmons of Barberton; two sisters, Wilma (& George) Brewbaker of Clinton and Cora (& Dean) Fredrick of Doylestown; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Family and friends may call on Monday (January 2, 2012) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church (136 Rix Mills Road, Rix Mills OH), where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery.
