Merlin Bayly

Merlin Bayly, 72, of Pleasant City, died Friday (September 13, 2019) at his home.

He was born April 18, 1947 in Pleasant City, son of the late Theodore Bayly and Hazel (Shimp) Bayly.

A 1966 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, Mr. Bayly was a tool & die maker for Presforge and later Fehrman Tool & Die.

He was member of the Cambridge Eagles Aerie # 386 and a member of Big John's Sportsmans Club.

He was Protestant by faith.

Mr. Bayly was a US Navy Seal, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Buffalo VFW # 8040.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Rossiter) Bayly, who died July 2, 1992. They were married November 4, 1972. Also deceased is a brother, Carlos Bayly; and a grandson, Ethan King.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer King (& Charles Hayes) of Lore City; four grandchildren, Tristen King, Tyler King, Madison King, and Audrey King; four nephews; and a niece.

No calling hours will be observed.

A graveside service and burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, will be held Monday (September 30, 2019) at 1 p.m. with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
