Merritt "Willie" Cunningham Voorhies

Merritt "Willie" Cunningham Voorhies, 61, of Cambridge, died Sunday (October 29, 2006) at home. He was born March 28, 1945 in Birmingham, son of Evelyn (Treherne) Voorhies and the late Clark Voorhies. Mr. Voorhies worked in the mobile home industry for many years, installing mobile homes. He enjoyed playing music and loved fishing. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three sisters. He leaves his mother, Evelyn (Treherne) Voorhies of Byesville; a son, Jeff Voorhies of Zanesville; two daughters, Lisa Wells of Cambridge and Lori Warrick of Nashville TN; seven brothers, Joseph, Edwin, Carl, Robert, Alba, Donald and John Voorhies; three sisters, Donna Scott, Delores Elston and Phyllis Kemmer; four grandchildren, Melanie Wells, Michael Wells, Joshua Warrick and Eric Wylie; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his ex-wife, Brenda Eckelberry Fosdyck of Nashville TN; and his good friends, Mary Pine and Floyd Wylie. Private family services will be held.
