Michael Andrew Burt

Michael Andrew Burt, 72, of Cambridge, died Sunday (January 26, 2020) at Southeastern Med.

He was born November 20, 1947 in Cambridge, son of the late Joseph Burt and Evelyn (Emde) Burt.

Mr. Burt was the owner and operator of Mike & Larry's Auto Repair.

He was a member of the Cambridge Eagles Aerie 386, the Cambridge Moose, and the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Auxiliary.

He enjoyed fishing, drag racing, working on cars, and gardening. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Mr. Burt was Catholic by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Mingione.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Burgy) Burt, whom he married November 20, 1986; his children, Michael (Jan) Burt II of Cambridge, Bo (Ann) Burt of Cambridge, Jody (Mike) Smith of Byesville, and Chris (Traci) Rothwell of North Carolina; a brother, Joe (Mildred) Burt of New Philadelphia; three sisters, Ellen Donnelly of Cambridge, Kathleen (Dick) Huston of Cambridge, Mary (Phil) Fogle of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his best friend, Larry (Sue) Perkins of Byesville; and several nieces & nephews.

Memorial visitation hours will be held Friday (January 31, 2020) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.

Graveside services and burial will follow on Friday (January 31, 2020) at 3 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge, with Father Paul Hrezo officiating.
