Michael F. Caris

Michael F. "Uncle Mike" Caris, 63, of Cumberland and formerly of Akron, died Saturday (December 11, 2010) at his residence. He was born February 27, 1947 in Akron, son of the late Homer Caris and Barbara (Columbus) Caris. Mr. Caris was a baker for Giant Eagle for several years. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Havestock and Pam Caris. He is survived by his wife, Christine (Hines) Caris of the home; two step-sons, Christopher Caris of Garretsville and Jason Gunder of Chicago IL; a step-daughter, Allison Gunder of Stow; a sister, Carol (& Dave) Polen of Suffield; seven grandchildren; and many, many friends. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday (December 18, 2010) at 1 p.m. at the family home (55469 Spencer Road, Cumberland OH 43732.)
