Michael Woyansky Jr, age 71, formerly of Lore City, passed away at his home in Lodi, Ohio on December 17, 2023.
He is the son of the late Mike Woyansky and the late Veronica (Beros) Woyansky. He is survived by his children Kristina Woyansky and children Searra, Miranda, and Veronica; Michael G. Woyansky and Kattie (Strohmeyer) Woyansky; Bernard and Jennifer (Green) Woyansky and children Sara, Jasmine, Trinity, and Summer; Matthew Woyansky and children Maddi and Mavric; Garrett and Kathryn (Woyansky) Cooley and children Keira, Jude, and Killian; Rachel Woyansky and partner Nikki Ghent. Michael was married to Jeanne Weaver on September 6, 1975, and they shared a life together for almost 30 years. He is survived by one sister, Martha (Woyansky) Trapp, a special cousin Dorothy Bates, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Michael was a 1970 graduate of Guernsey Catholic Central High School. He was a US Naval Vietnam Veteran, and a member of the Ohio National Guard. He was employed by Conrail Railroad where he worked for the safety of the men as a grievance manager. He was a strong advocate for The Unborn where he wrote many letters on their behalf to the federal legislators. He was also a carpenter by trade and completed many remodels and renovations in the area.
Michael was a devoted Catholic and truly loved his family, his faith, and his country. He always stood strong in his allegiance to these. He enjoyed the outdoors and put the love of fishing and music in his children's hearts which is still prevalent today. He enjoyed woodworking and teaching his sons the art of wood crafting. He loved the farm life, gardening, and was a fantastic cook. He enjoyed playing the accordion and the guitar. He enjoyed all the Slovak traditions and loved teaching them to his children and grandchildren. He truly cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He kept his children and grandchildren united in his heart with his unwavering love. He will always be remembered for his kind and generous nature, and for his unselfish heart for those whom he loved so dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 9AM-11AM at St. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church in Lore City, with Mass starting at 11AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the Mass with Father Nicholas Ginnetti officiating.
