Michael Lee Mckinney

Michael Lee McKinney, 47, of Cambridge, died Thursday (October 31, 2013) at his home. He was born March 30, 1966 in Cambridge, son of Leanna (Starr) McCollum and the late Donald L. Harper. Mr. McKinney was a quality control technician for Island Aseptics. He was a 1984 graduate of Cambridge High School and later graduated from Zane State with an Associate's degree in electronics. Mr. McKinney was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jasper Starr; and his paternal grandparents, Howard and Hazel Harper. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Leanna and Les McCollum of Cambridge; two sons, Joshua McKinney of Tennessee and Kody McKinney of Caldwell; four daughters, Ashlee McKinney of Cambridge, Jessica (& Bryan) Nicholas of Reynoldsburg, Heather (& John) Whited of Cumberland, and Katelyn McKinney of Caldwell; two half-brothers, Roger (& Elisha) Harper and Scott (& Helen) Harper of Cambridge; a half-sister, Traci (& Ray) Touvell of Cambridge; six grandchildren; and his maternal grandmother, Bonnie Starr of Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (November 5, 2013) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Sturman Moore officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, at a later date.
