Michael Wayne Rogers

August 14, 1951 — January 11, 2022

Michael "Big Mike" Wayne Rogers, 70, of Springfield, died Tuesday (January 11, 2022) at Springfield Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 14, 1951 in Oakland CA, son of the late Alvi Rogers and Juanita (House) Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was a retired truck driver, oil field worker, and professional drummer.

He was Christian by faith.

Mr. Rogers was a member of the Moose Lodge of Cambridge and Cambridge Eagles Aerie #386.

He loved drumming and playing in bands.  Most of all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jenny Bintliff; a brother, Joe House; and two grandsons, Michael "Mikey" Rogers and Josh Jamtgarrd.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Merritt) Rogers, whom he married November 5, 2005; a son, Sam (Yolanda) Rogers of Cambridge; two daughters, Kelly Hunter of Cambridge and Michelle (Jay) Brown of Virginia; a stepson, Thomas McFadyen of Byesville; six stepdaughters, Wendy (Jeff) Durben of Salesville, Deborah Grubaugh of Cambridge, Sheila Doherty of Byesville, Natasha Tracey of Springfield, Sandy (Kenneth) Carter of Cambridge, and Betsy Blasenhauer of Cambridge; a brother, Robert House of San Francisco CA; a sister, Joan House of San Francisco CA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his first wife & the mother of his children, Betty Rogers of Cambridge.

No calling hours will be observed.  No funeral services will be held at this time.
