Mildred "Irene" Dyer

Mildred "Irene" Dyer, 94, of Cambridge, died Thursday (December 21, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born April 30, 1923 in Old Washington, daughter of the late Ross Slasor and Mary (Hawkins) Slasor. Mrs. Dyer was a sales clerk at Beverly Shop, Kresges, Bonhams, and Penney's. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dyer; a son, Earl Dyer; four brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by a son, David Dyer of Cambridge; a daughter, Rose Mary (& Robert) McCoy of Cambridge; a sister, Virginia Slosky of Cambridge; her grandchildren, Nikki Dyer of Byesville, Robert McCoy of Washington NC, and David McCoy of Myrtle Beach SC; two step-grandchildren, Krystal Leonard of Cumberland and Denny Coon of Cambridge; two great-grandchildren, Bella Moore and Joseph Armentrout; and a daughter-in-law, Vada Dyer. Visitation will be held Wednesday (December 27, 2017) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Thursday (December 28, 2017) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Slay officiating. Burial will be at Old Washington Cemetery.
