Mona Lea Black

Mona Lea Black, 54, of Cambridge, died Thursday (July 21, 2011) at her home. She was born June 5, 1957 in Greensboro PA, daughter of Phyllis (Engle) Heskett and the late Lester Clayton Steele. Ms. Black was a homemaker. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and crocheting. She was a friend to all. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lynn Anderson; and three brothers, Butch Engle, Steven Steele, and Darrell E. Steele. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Heskett of Norwich; her life partner of twenty years, Terry Pennington of the home; two daughters, Amy Jo (& Michael) Francis of St. Albans WV and Erin Seantel (& Travis) Miley of Senecaville; two stepchildren, Angie Hanzey and Jennifer Pennington; three brothers, Bud Engle Jr. of Canton, Lester Steele of Cambridge, and Ricky Hackney of Arizona; a half-sister, Cathy Heskett of Norwich; two grandchildren, Travis Snyder and Kiley Miley; Tanya Landaker of Cambridge, an adopted child to Mona; and her best friend and caregiver, Sherri Greene of Cambridge. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (July 30, 2011) at 716 S 8th Street - Apt C, Cambridge, beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions in Mona's name be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
