Montie A. Hunter Sr., 66, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (November 11, 2020) after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was a Pepsi distributor for twenty years and worked in management for three years. In 1989, he became a Conn's Potato Chip distributor and then became president/owner of Conn's until he retired May 31, 2019 and sold his share.
Mr. Hunter was a 32 nd Degree Mason of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge # 66 F. & A.M.
He enjoyed playing golf. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports and attending their recitals & 4-H shows. He especially loved their family vacations.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, May Hunter; his parents, Virginia Dutro and Belmont Hunter; and his father-in-law, Donald Hinson.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of forty-three years, Carol Hunter; daughter, Courtney (Kurt) Campbell and their son, Colby Campbell; son, Allen (Harriett) Hunter and their children, Madison and Austin Hunter, Zack (Angela) Geiger and Paisley Geiger; son, Chris (Susan) Hunter and their daughter, Alexis Hunter; his pet dogs, Bo and Little Bear who were always by his side; sister, Terra Hoops; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve & Betty Hinson and Jim & Nancy Latchic; his mother-in-law, Rosa Bernadine Watson; several nieces and nephews; and his special golf partners and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
