Morris J. "Skeet" Bailey, 76, of Kimbolton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born March 6, 1946, a son of the late Robert and Ethyl (Johnson) Bailey.
He worked as a welder, oil field worker, truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
Skeet enjoyed watching car shows and westerns. He loved working on vehicles. Throughout his life, he was a hard worker who truly enjoyed working, seeing his friends at the Eagles, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was very driven and determined. He was a man who stood tall and walked taller, described by his children as being 'old school cool'.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother- in- law, Clyde and Bernice Catlett, his sister, Glenda Carlton, and his brothers, John Bailey, Jim McFee, Joe McFee, Donnie Anderson, Myron Anderson, Jerry McFee, Kenneth Catlett, and his grandparents, Walter and Altha Johnson.
Skeet is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hollis (Catlett) Bailey, whom he married on October 24, 1970. Also left to cherish his memory are two sons, Carl (& Staci) Bailey of Cambridge, Kevin (& Vicki) Bailey of Chandlersville, his daughter Bernice Kay Catlett of Cambridge, two brothers Jack McFee and Ronnie Anderson both of Georgia, a brother and sister-in- law Lewis and Sherry Catlett of Cambridge, six grandchildren, Cody (& Paige) Bailey, Kayla (& Bill) Lane, Kristapher (& Brittany) Bailey, Dalton Bailey, Laine (Katelyn) Crawford, and Haley (Trevor) Crawford, seven great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 30, from 3pm-5pm and from 7pm-9pm as well as Saturday, December 31, from 11am to 1pm at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, at 1pm, with Tim Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
