d. November 13, 2021

Carter Campbell, age 7, of Lore City, passed away peacefully in the arms of his parents on Saturday (November 13, 2021) at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus.

He was born July 24, 2014 in Guernsey County, son of Cody and LaTisha (Smith) Campbell.

Since May 2020, Carter has courageously battled t-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, an aggressive and rare form of pediatric cancer.  Although his life was cut short, the impression he left on the lives of others will never be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, Carter is survived by two younger brothers, Kase and Korbin Campbell of the home; maternal grandparents, John and Mary Smith of Cambridge; paternal grandparents, John and Deanna Campbell of Byesville; two uncles, John Jr. (Angel) Smith of Cambridge and John Jr. (Jennifer) Campbell of Lore City; an aunt, Cheyenne (Nathan) Haines of Coshocton; four cousins, Jes Smith, Anna Smith, Addi Haines, and Jase Haines; a large, extended family; and his dog, Emma.

Carter had an old soul.  He spoke with certainty and made fast friends with anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him.  His infectious smile lit up the room and his laughter was food for the soul.  He enjoyed playing on his tablet, spending time with his family, going on adventures with his brothers, and cuddling with Emma.  He was affectionately known by his family as peanut and mommy's butter bean.

Visitation will be held Thursday (November 18, 2021) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Evang. Mark Beros officiating. Friends and family are welcome, but due to COVID-19 please take all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and everyone else's should you decide to attend.

The family requests that visitors wear their "Carter's Crew" shirts, if possible.
