Nancy Helen (Gattrell) Carpenter

Nancy Helen (Gattrell) Carpenter, 69, of Quaker City, died Saturday (June 16, 2007) at her home. She was born on July 15, 1937 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Gaylord Gattrell and Helen (Gray) Gattrell. She married Keith Carpenter on September 15, 1956. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker, who loved taking care of her children. Mrs. Carpenter was a 1955 graduate of Lore City High School. She was a longtime member of the Ohio Hills Folk Festival and the Beaver Hills Garden Club. She was a volunteer E.M.T. for the Quaker City Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, on September 16, 2006. She leaves four sons, Dana E. Carpenter, Duff T. Carpenter, David A. Carpenter and Dale E. Carpenter; a daughter, Susannah Gay Carpenter; a sister, Joyce Dean; six grandchildren, Drew (& Christina) Carpenter, who was raised by Keith and Nancy, David, Kyle, Lindsey, Emily and Ashley; and three great-grandchildren, Devon, Alexandria and Dylan. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Thursday (June 21, 2007) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Hogue officiating.
