Nancy J. Johnson

Nancy J. (Howfield) Johnson, 68, of Cambridge, died Monday (January 23, 2017) at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Bellaire. She was born October 11, 1948 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Elmer J. Howfield and Margaret (White) Howfield. Mrs. Johnson was an LPN and had worked at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Ohio Valley General, and Fish Memorial of Florida. She was a member of the 1 ^st Christian Church of Cambridge, where she had served as the educational director. A very active church member, Mrs. Johnson was involved in all church activities and women's groups. She loved working with children and conducted the children's sermons for the church. Mrs. Johnson was a 1966 graduate of Cambridge High School and later graduated from the Tri-Valley School of Nursing. She is survived by her husband, Ken Johnson, whom she married July 17, 1982; a son, Jeremy L. Johnson of Cambridge; a sister, Sally Allen of Cambridge; four nephews, Judd Turner, Justin Turner, James Allen III, and Danny Johnson; a niece, Stephanie Miller; a great-niece, Maggie Turner; and a great-nephew, Keaton Miller. A memorial service will be held Saturday (January 28, 2017) at 11 a.m. at The 1 ^st Christian Church (1127 Beatty Avenue, Cambridge) with Pastor Deborah Bolen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Thorn-Black Funeral Home, 139 S 9 ^th St, Cambridge OH 43725.
