Nancy E. Watkins

Nancy E. Watkins, 93, of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday (September 20, 2006) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge. She was born September 16, 1913 in Kipling, daughter of the late William Robertson and Cathryn (Shafer) Robertson. Mrs. Watkins worked for eighteen years at Ceramic Tile and for twelve years at The Daily Jeffersonian. She also worked for many years at Sally O'Sweets and was well-known for her candy. Mrs. Watkins was a member of First Christian Church of Cambridge. She was also a member of Christian Women's Fellowship, Golden 60's, Keen Agers and Country Swingers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Watkins, who passed away in 1973. They were married on March 9, 1934. Also deceased are a son, Jerry Lee Watkins, who passed away on August 18, 2005; six sisters; and two brothers. She leaves four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also on Saturday (September 23, 2006) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Terry Tate and Evang. Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
