Nathaniel Johnson, 32, of Kimbolton, died Tuesday (January 4, 2022) at his home.
He was born May 3, 1989 in Franklin NC, son of Randy H. Roper and the late Tava Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a heavy equipment operator.
He was Christian by faith. He enjoyed reading the Bible and studying religion.
Mr. Johnson was a US Army veteran and a member of the National Guard. He was very proud of his service to our county, having served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Mason Johnson.
He is survived by his father, Randy (Beverly) Roper of Lula GA; four daughters, Madison Johnson, Marley Johnson, Maylee Johnson all of California, and Callie Johnson of Georgia; a brother, D.J. Thomas of North Carolina; three sisters, Brandy Roper of North Carolina, Tiana Roper of New Jersey, and Chassity Thomas of North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Roper of North Carolina; his maternal grandmother, Faye Johnson of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; his "Mamaw", Barbara Thomas of North Carolina; the mother of his daughter Callie, Jamie Young of Georgia; and his stepfather, Danny Thomas of North Carolina. He also leaves his "Ohio" family – his Ohio mom & dad, Bud and June Lafferty of Kimbolton; and his Ohio brothers, Chip (Melissa) Lafferty, Josh (Jennifer) Lafferty, and Shawn (Kassi) Lafferty all of Kimbolton.
No calling hours will be observed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
