Nellie Jean (Pachuta) Bodner

August 1, 1930 — February 24, 2016

Nellie Jean (Pachuta) Bodner, 85, of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday (February 24, 2016) at her home. She was born August 1, 1930 in Lore City, daughter of the late Michael Pachuta and Anna (Pavlik) Pachuta. Mrs. Bodner had worked at the former NCR for fourteen years as a cafeteria cook. She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish, Catholic Women's Club, and Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Bodner was a 1948 graduate of Lore City High School. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed playing board games, especially Yahtzee and bingo. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, and painting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mark William Bodner and an infant Paul Edward Bodner; a brother, Mike Pachuta; and two sisters, Anna Kalafa and Mary Davala. She is survived by her husband, Bill Bodner, whom she married on September 2, 1950; three sons, Daniel Bodner of Cambridge, Stephen (& Shawna) Bodner of New Concord, and David (& Joy) Bodner of Salesville; four daughters, Carol (& Andy) Yakubik of Cambridge, Janet (& Chester) Adkins of Lawrenceville GA, Margie (& Jim) Reed of Cambridge, and Dr. Anna (& Dr. Greg) Knight of Norton; a brother, John Pachuta of Cambridge; two sisters, Helen Schuetz of Tennessee and Margaret Flannick of Cleveland; twelve grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where wake services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday (February 29, 2016) at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Paul Hrezo and Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge.
