Odessa Mae Cox, 89, of Cambridge, died Sunday (may 24, 2015) at Greystone Health & Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge. She was born August 9, 1925 in Allen County KY, daughter of the late Beverly Claude Hunt and Beulah Ray (Newman) Hunt. Mrs. Cox was a twenty-year employee of Goodwill Industries, where she had worked as an employment & training coordinator. She retired in 2006. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Cambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Bill" Cox", whom she married March 22, 1969; and a sister, Nova Shores. She is survived by two daughters, Georgianna (& Parley) Long of Cambridge and Margo Noelting of Nashville TN; four grandchildren, Tracy (& Tommy) Coulter of Grove City, Kevin (& Shelly) Long of Cambridge, Shawn (& Aimee) Long of Cambridge, and Elizabeth (& Kurt) Bowden of Columbia TN; a brother, Claude (& Betty) Hunt of Greenwood IN; a nephew, Shannon Hunt of Greenwood IN; five great-grandsons: Anthony Mawhorter of Grove City, Grant Mawhorter of Grove City, Zackary Long of Cambridge, Spencer Long of Cambridge, and Parker Long of Cambridge; a great-granddaughter, Annie Coulter of Grove City; and a great-great-grandson, Aleksander Mawhorter of Grove City. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, followed by a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mark Stinson officiating. Burial will be at the Park Lawn Cemetery, Evansville IN, on Monday (June 1, 2015) at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington DC 20090-6011.
